Renovated Rehn Hall
The College of Business and Analytics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is advancing a bold, phased strategic vision to transform its physical environment into a modern hub for business and analytics education. Phase 1 focuses on the comprehensive renovation of Rehn Hall, reimagining the facility to align with contemporary academic, technological, and student engagement standards. Central to this phase is the relocation of administrative offices to the third floor, creating a more cohesive and efficient operational structure while freeing prime, student-facing space on the lower levels. The first floor will be transformed into the Harvey Michaels Center for Academic Success and Engagement—a dynamic, student-centered environment designed to foster advising, collaboration, career readiness, and experiential learning opportunities. The renovation will also include the thoughtful reconfiguration of existing academic spaces throughout Rehn Hall. Classrooms, labs, and collaborative areas will be modernized and repositioned to support flexible teaching methods, interdisciplinary learning, and the integration of data analytics across all business disciplines. Emphasis will be placed on creating open, technology-enabled environments that reflect how business is practiced today. Phase 1 establishes the foundation for a forward-looking business school that prioritizes student success, innovation, and industry relevance. This transformation of Rehn Hall will not only enhance the daily experience of students, faculty, and staff, but also position the College as a competitive destination for future business leaders, setting the stage for Phase 2’s broader expansion and integration with Lawson Hall.
