Lingle Hall
Lingle Hall is an academic and athletics-related building on the campus of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, located adjacent to SIU Arena and serving multiple university programs. The building honors Leland “Doc” Lingle, a pioneering coach who founded SIU’s track and field program in 1927. Over his 33-year coaching tenure, Lingle led the Salukis to 13 conference team track titles and three cross country titles and earned induction into the Helms Foundation Hall of Fame in 1964 for his contributions to collegiate athletics.
Today, Lingle Hall remains an important campus facility and a tribute to one of the university’s most influential coaches.
